MOT Bay Refurbishment.
Replacement MOT equipment
An existing MOT bay does not always need to be replaced in full when individual equipment reaches the end of its service life or needs upgrading. Liftmaster can assess the current bay and determine whether the lift, brake tester or other equipment can be replaced within the existing layout.
A free site survey is used to check the existing recesses, equipment positions and surrounding layout before replacement equipment is ordered. Where the proposed equipment is suitable, Liftmaster can remove the agreed old equipment, install and calibrate the replacement, and provide the information needed for the applicable DVSA process.
The refurbishment pair
The current refurbishment page focuses on two main replacement items for a Class IV ATL bay: the vehicle lift and the roller brake tester. Either can be assessed on its own, or both can be considered as part of the same refurbishment.

- Drop-in fit for existing recesses
- Integrated play detectors
- Captive turn plates
- Class IV ATL approved

- Drop-in fit for existing recesses
- Self-braking rollers
- DVSA MTS connected
- Class IV ATL approved

Survey and equipment replacement
Liftmaster surveys the existing bay and checks whether the proposed replacement equipment suits the current recesses and layout. Once the equipment and scope are agreed, the old equipment included in the job can be removed, the replacement installed and the required calibration completed.
The refurbishment should then be assessed against the MOT and DVSA requirements that apply to the altered bay before it returns to service.
Ready to refurbish your bay
Tell Liftmaster what equipment you are considering replacing. The team can assess the existing bay, confirm whether the proposed replacement can be accommodated and quote for the agreed removal, installation and calibration work. Finance options are available.
