MOT Bay Site Survey.
A free survey before you commit
Before equipment is ordered, a Liftmaster engineer visits the premises to measure the available space, record the site constraints and confirm which MOT bay layout and equipment can be accommodated.
The survey covers the building dimensions, ceiling height, floor condition, columns, overhead ducting and existing equipment. Where relevant, Liftmaster also checks recess depths, power supply and drainage. The vehicle mix is used alongside the site information when the bay and equipment are specified.
After the survey, Liftmaster prepares a layout drawing for the proposed bay. The drawing can be used as part of the information required for the DVSA VT01 application. See Plan Your Bay.
On the day, and after
The site visit records the information needed to plan the MOT bay before equipment is ordered. The next stage is to turn those measurements and site details into a workable bay layout and equipment specification.
Measure and assess
- Building dimensions and available bay space
- Ceiling height and floor condition
- Columns, ducting and existing equipment that affect the layout
- Existing recess depths where relevant
- Power supply and drainage
- Vehicle mix and the MOT classes the site plans to test
Layout drawing and next steps
Liftmaster uses the survey information to prepare the proposed bay layout and identify the equipment required. The layout can then support equipment specification, installation planning and the customer’s DVSA VT01 application.
